DataMagnet

DataMagnet converts complex reports into structured data files compatible with Excel or other spreadsheet and database products. It finds the useful data in your report by using a report description file (RDF) to separate data from clutter.

The RDF, which is created by us, describes the structure of your report and the location of the data. In addition, it defines the layout of the output file including column headers, widths and formats.

DataMagnet allows you to customize your output. You can eliminate columns, change column sequence and header descriptions. The output file format can also be changed. Use Excel, csv or your own custom file format. All changes may be saved as a custom RDF. This will allow a report to be transformed again using your custom settings without having to reset them.

- Begin with a report from your host application which has been saved to a file.

- Launch DataMagnet and select the report.


- Click the RUN button to create the spreadsheet.

- Excel opens with your report data ready for analysis.
